Mauritania Travel Diaries is a space where I share my travel experiences in Mauritania, The Land of the Emptiness, of the Vast Sahara Desert. I have entered Mauritania 5 times and travelled extensively all around: From the Northern Nouadhibou border to the Southern Rosso Senegal border; from Atar to Chinguetti; The Legendary Beach Highway from Nouamghar to Nouakchott; The Forbidden Desert Tracks in the North from Choum to Bir Moghrein.
This Blog is to make Mauritania easier to travel. I give my own travel tips and experiences, photos and a wide research on other links about the country.
I hope you enjoy this Blog and please leave you comments. Thank You!
Great site! I went to Morocco and Western Sahara earlier this year and am headed to Mauritania in a couple months. As it appears you can attest to, the Sahara is pretty addictive. Thanks for the advice, can’t wait to see your future postings. Also your photographs are beautiful!
Congratulations on a most informative blog and some stunning photographs. I have placed a link to you from our travel community at trivago, where we endeavour to combine informative sources, reviews and more about global destinations for our visitors. The community also compiles a list of recommended websites and accommodation options. We invite you to visit us and share your experiences.
Hi there,
I am very happy I found your website. I traveled through Mauretania and the Sahara desert with my old VW Golf on the 2007 Plymouth-Banjul challenge, and found this country to be quite a strange yet fascinating place. I am looking forward to reading more about Mauretania here. I am sure I will go back soon …
Cheers
Marc
